Indication:
Enrofloxacin injection 10% in veterinary medicine is used to treat bacterial infections in multiple animal species, including respiratory infections in cattle, sheep, and goats caused by Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica, gastrointestinal infections in cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs caused by Escherichia coli and Salmonella, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections in dogs and cats, and systemic infections like septicemia across various animals, with dosages tailored by veterinarians to ensure effective treatment while minimizing resistance risks.
Dosage and administration:
For Cattle, Sheep, and Goats:
Dosage: 2.5-5 mg/kg body weight.
Frequency: Administer once daily.
Duration: Treat for 3-5 days or as directed by the veterinarian.
Administration: Administer by deep intramuscular injection.
For Swine:
Dosage: 2.5-10 mg/kg body weight.
Frequency: Administer once daily.
Duration: Treat for 3-5 days or as directed by the veterinarian.
Administration: Administer by deep intramuscular injection or as advised.
For Dogs and Cats:
Dosage: 5-20 mg/kg body weight.
Frequency: Administer once daily.
Duration: Treat for 7-14 days or as directed by the veterinarian.
Administration: Administer by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
Precautions:
1.Avoid use in animals with known hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones, including Enrofloxacin.
2.Use with caution in animals with a history of seizures
3.Adjust dosage in animals with impaired renal function to prevent accumulation and potential toxicity.
4.Store enrofloxation injection in a cool, dry place away from light and out of reach of children and animals. Withdrawal period:
For meat: Calves, cattle, sheep and goats : 21 days; Swine: 14 days.
For milk: 4 days.
