Indication:
Florfenicol injection 10% is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used in veterinary medicine to treat various bacterial infections in different animals. In cattle, it is primarily used for bovine respiratory disease (BRD) caused by *Mannheimia haemolytica*, *Pasteurella multocida*, and *Histophilus somni*, as well as for foot rot. In swine, it treats swine respiratory disease (SRD) caused by *Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae*, *Pasteurella multocida*, and *Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae*, and colibacillosis caused by *Escherichia coli*. In poultry, it is effective against respiratory infections, cholera, and mycoplasmosis. For aquaculture, florfenicol is used to treat bacterial septicemia, coldwater disease, and columnaris disease. In sheep and goats, it is used for respiratory infections similar to those in cattle. Additionally, florfenicol is used to treat mastitis in dairy cattle and skin and soft tissue infections in various animals.
Dosage and administration:
For Cattle and Sheep:20 mg/kg body weight (2 mL/15 kg) intramuscularly,for 2 times at a 48-hour interval.
For Swine:15 mg/kg body weight (2 mL/15 kg) intramuscularly,for 2 times at a 48-hour interval.
For Poultry:Typically administered via drinking water at a concentration that delivers 20 mg/kg body weight per day.
Precautions:
1.It is contraindicated in animals allergic to florfenicol.
2.Use cautiously in animals with renal or hepatic insufficiency
3.Use with caution in pregnant and lactating animals.
4.Follow the dosage and administration instructions carefully.
5.Store florfenicol injection in a cool, dry place away from light and out of reach of children and animals.
Withdrawal period:
For Cattle and Sheep:28 days.
For Swine:16 days.
For Poultry: 5-7 days.
